Miss Taro Patch
Born.....sometime after the dinosaurs but before Miley Cyrus
Taro started off in a wee bar in Auckland's K Rd back in 1998 where she entered the Miss Drag Legends competition, starting her on a whirlwind of sequins, feathers and plastic hair where she was named by a friend stating that "you remind me of a Cabbage Patch Doll...but from the Islands"
Since then she has performed all over. Hosting the New Years festivities at Vinegar Hill, starting up Auckland's Kings and Queens event, performing and numerous club venues (Legends, Family Bar, DNA, Rice Queens, Flesh) and corporate events (ANZ, Westpac, Lewisham Awards) and most recently she has been one of the MC's and performers at the legendary Caluzzi Bar and Cabaret for the past 10 years.
She has been inspired by the whole art of Drag, from the inspirational Le Girls to modern Drag Race Stars but likes to say she's based her look on classic drag. A little bit of clown and little bit of fishy with lots of makeup, hair and diamantes to boot!
